Legal Audio/Video Transcription

An audio/video transcriptionist converts spoken words from audio or video recordings into written text. While not exclusively tied to legal contexts, audio transcriptionists may find work transcribing legal proceedings, depositions, or other recordings. Transcriptionists use specialized software or tools to listen to recorded audio and video and accurately transcribe the spoken words, ensuring a faithful representation of the content. Further, they must have excellent listening skills, language proficiency, and attention to detail to produce accurate and coherent transcripts.

In legal settings, transcriptionists may be hired to transcribe recordings of witness testimonies, interviews, or other legal communications. Their work supports the documentation of legal events and provides a written record that legal professionals can refer to during case preparation or review of legal proceedings. While distinct from court reporters, transcriptionists share the goal of transforming spoken words into written form, contributing to creating accurate and reliable records.
