Our Story
The name CopyCAT is more than just a catchy gimmick. It IS court reporting. In this industry, our court reporters “copy” or type precisely what is said to create a written record. Court reporters write verbatim phonetically into a stenograph machine, using Computer-Aided Technology software, or “CAT” software, to translate their phonetic keystrokes into words. We’re also cat lovers here. While working with our founder, Victoria, many attorneys will remember her furry friends joining their virtual deposition for a quick “Hello!” before exiting off-screen. Thus, cat lovers copying down the record using Computer-Aided Technology commenced CopyCAT Court Reporting, LLC.

The COVID-19 pandemic paved the way for a new era of court reporting. With social distancing in place, agencies turned to remote technology to assist in deposition and litigation support services.
